Plain of Six Glaciers & Lake Agnes hike
Aug 31st, 2007 by Jon
Linda came for a visit this week, so we hit Lake Louise for a four-hour hike that turned into seven. Mainly my fault - We wanted to hit Lake Agnes but ended up going towards the Plain of Six Glaciers, then diverted onto the Highline Trail to the top of the Big Beehive (where the top shot was taken), and then back down around to the Lake Agnes teahouse and Mirror Lake.
You can see the picture set at Flickr, on Flickr Maps, or even better…
If you have Google Earth installed, you are in for a treat! Save and open the Plain of Six Glaciers & Lake Agnes KML file with Google Earth! When you’re all set up, you should be able to get a nice map of exactly where the shots were taken, which is miles kilometers beyond the Flickr map.

And if you are simply too lazy, you can view this in an embedded Google Map (a bit clunky)
(Sidenote: A KML file, in short, is a mapping file that you can open with Google Earth to see places on… well, Earth.)

Hello;
I was at Lake Louise in July of ‘88, and did the 6 Glacier/Highline/Agnes trail back then. Looks like you had a much nicer day. I got stuck in a raging T-storm when I was at the Beehive area. Awesome place though. Gotta get back someday.
Thanks for the memories
Hi Gary, no problem. I hope you visit soon - the teahouse is as great as ever (the guy who was working it was from Ottawa, I believe), but going in July is a much nicer time than August!
Thanks for the visit & comment.
