The Tim Hortons Roll Up The Rim 2008 statistics
On this page, you will be able to find the total progress (and pictures) of each and every Tim Hortons coffee/tea I have purchased, as well as the stats of my winnings. Some quick notes:
A) My usual is a Steeped Tea, which costs $1.59 here in Calgary, Alberta. It includes GST but no PST (we’re lucky like that!).
B) Actual winning amounts are from the RUTR official rules. In cases of coffee and donut prizes, the highest quoted amount is calculated.
The odds of winning any food prize this year is 1 in 9. However, 75% of those prizes can be coffee, and 25% can be donuts/muffins - This translates to the odds of winning a coffee to 1 in 12, and the odds of winning a food prize are 1 in 36.
This year, I am tracking my statistics on a live Google Spreadsheets document. Detailed instructions for the graph and the spreadsheet itself are available on the Setup worksheet.

Hey, I’ve recently went on a 0 for 23 streak - very depressing!
How is the iPhone?
Hey Dawger, you went on a little hiatus for a bit! Bitter about your losses? Hitting 23 losses is pretty bad luck though - maybe its about time you started to average out after winning so much!
Hey Jon, ya I was a little bit of a sore loser so I stopped posting for a bit. My losing streak is up to 29 in a row now! I’m even below the stated 1 in 9 odds now!
Hopefully I can finish strong.
Hi Jon,
Just to let you know, we’ve posted your story the Google Docs Blog, here: http://googledocs.blogspot.com/2008/04/coffee-and-statistics.html
Cheers,
Meredith

Hey,
I just wanted to let you know that your blog is fantastic! It’s very entertaining and educational. I’m in Saskatoon and currently at 9 in 36, but most others I know are 1- 35 to 40 or so. My question is, where are all of the Tim cards? I have yet to hear of someone winning one, yet there are supposed to be 20 000 (last I checked only 4000ish had been claimed). Now, my strategy is to just keep getting coffees until the cups are gone–and if that means having to downgrade to a medium… then so be it!
Happy rolling =)
Meredith @ Google Docs - Thanks for posting my story about Google Docs! Hopefully next year we’ll get lots of RUTRers putting their stats on there to share as well!
Hi Andrea and James - Thanks for the comments. I’m personally very curious about the slow redemptions of the gift cards and GPS units - I’ve sent something to the Tim Hortons PR team, maybe they’ll provide me with an explanation. I’ll keep you posted. Happy rolling! =)
